Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

thank you! 💙💙💙 Leia/Leah/Lea/whatever is fascinating to me. she is the ultimate unknown. what was she like? how involved (or even aware of any details of the invasion) was she? Silver's basically a physical carbon copy of his biodad, so what did he get from her? like, I understand why the two of them kind of have to stay as these super vague and mysterious figures -- the whole point of them is that their story ended 400+ years ago and they're not really relevant anymore (and. well. the more that gets explained about them, the less that can just kinda be handwaved as "oh the politics were Very Messy") (we can sit here and theorize all day but let us acknowledge that, ultimately, canon gave us almost nothing about them post-Meleanor and we'd just be making things up). I do still wonder about her though! RIP Lea, we never knew you and we probably never will.

can’t help but think of how, if we choose to go by sirius’ characterisation as a private, arrogant teen who only lets a select few into his circle, sirius’ post-azkaban life just have been such an utterly humiliating experience for him.

especially OoTP. when he has all these near strangers in his childhood house, that he hated and loved and ran away from and couldn’t ever escape. if he spent his entire pre-azkaban existence building a cold and aloof persona, not letting people know what his home life had been like, then to have all of these people get a front row seat to it because of kreacher and portrait walburga’s shenanigans must have been near unbearable. to have the entire order, including snape whom he disliked and mistrusted, hear the kinds of names he’s being called.

not only does he have to deal with the retraumatisation of his childhood, but also the fact that he’s flayed open for everyone to see. it’s not only his freedom, innocence, dignity that has been snatched from him but his privacy also. it’s such a cruel thing to experience, on top of everything else.

to have literal children, his godson who he has been kept away from all this while, whom he presumably wants to be able to look up to him, to have him see into the deepest parts of his soul. to have to be so weak in front of him. not only is he subjected to such vileness but he also cannot do anything about it.

sirius has not had a moment of peace in all the time we knew him. it is indignity upon indignity that is heaped onto him. every other character has gotten a moment of respite but him. it fully breaks my heart.

there's an idea here, and the idea is slowly turning into a story, and in march I've got some one shot comics about pirates I want to post! ideally, in march. hopefully in march. there's a lot of stuff to figure out, drawing wise. I spent an amount of time I won't mention researching the history of leg prosthetics & vintage leg prosthetic designs for basilica, and I haven't even figured out tall ships. which is. well. it's pirates, what are pirates without tall ships

This is a really specific post but i just wanna talk about how much i like a specific design detail of ichi's witch outfit: the fur pelt

Obvi the fur pelt is there cuz ichi is fucking crazy and loves hunting (it was present on his metaphorical normal uniform too) but i love its function in the silhouette. Usually magical girls have a big dress or big hair giving them a powerful vibe. Not ALL magical girls obvi but more contemporary ones

Heres the cast of wonderful precure for an example. Big hair big dress big personality. But usually magical boys lose that and are kinda stuck being the sleak variety cuz they have no big hair and no big dress

Heres pretty cure dancing stars (the anime poster for consistency) theres an effort to make their silhouette bigger with capes but its still typicially smaller than magical girls

Also heres tokyo mew mew au lait even tho the tokyo mew mew magical girl outfits were always in the sleeker variety more of a sailor moon than a smile precure.

Theres nothing bad with that but i think its good for magical boys to have options rather than only being 1 style of typical magical girl which usually makes them their outfits feel all samey cuz the silhouettes have the same basic shape.

Okay back to ichi

This is why the fur pelt is so cool cuz it bridges that design gap while also seemlessly conforming to who he is a character

I can see here its not stationary either. It moves as tho hair would were it magical girl hair.

i think its just a really neat design choice i wanted to highlight

Also i love that its red i feel like we never get red and black magical girls or boys and it really shows off his bloodlust

this na’ziyah harris case has been tearing me up so bad and I just can’t get over it. it’s so heartbreaking but not surprising how older black women will coddle predators but villify young black girls for things they have no control over. even if it’s never been to the extent of full SA, I feel like a majority of us in the community at some point has experienced predatory behavior from an older man or being called ‘fast’ or ‘grown’ simply because we developed faster. and the moms, aunties, grannies, etc blamed us for what a grown adult has done or said. not to mention this sick bastard gave a 4 y/o VD and hurt his own daughter (I couldn’t specify if it was the same child but either way it’s disgusting) ik they’re turning his nasty ass every way but loose in that fucking cell but it still doesn’t change the fact that he stole all of these poor babies’ innocence and na’ziyah’s life. yall know me. you know my takes on season four of horror drama podcast the magnus archives. you know that I'm passionate about giving every character a fair shake about how they interact with jon because, even in cases when they are ultimately misguided, they are all written with easily legible motivations that go beyond "being evil for fun," and I do this in part because people have a tendency to be especially especially rancid about all of the female characters. you know this about me. but christ on high, sometimes when I listen I do want to get in a tight-knit hand-holding circle with them all and say well what did you THINK would happen?

The thing that bugged me about season 2 was how isolated each character seemed. Caitlyn's rampage on the chem barons was all well and good, but gassed up a whole street and innocents are bound to get caught in the crossfire - and vi helping her would at least get the attention of the firelights and in extension, ekko.

I want him to fight with his older sister, because so far for 5+ years he did all the cleaning in the undercity and nobody (that we know of) gotten hurt. And what about the councilwomen's daughter preaching about 'breaking the cycle of violence' but so easily used chemical warfare? In this case the end definitely does NOT justify the means
